Arrezzo Windows -

Siena and Florence are well known today, but in its day, Arezzo would compete against the two cities and these shields represent their past.

Alley In Tourrette -

This beautiful mountain village is in Provence, above Cannes. Tourrettes-sur-Loup is literally translated as Turrets on the Loup River. This is one of the alleyways leading to even more beautiful sights.

Bar Sur Loup -

This photo taken out of our tiny bathroom window! The town of Bar-sur-loup, similar to Tourrette-sur-loup - where the older men of the village spend their leisure time playing the game of boules.

Bridge at Blenheim, Woodstock, England-

Winston Churchill's birthplace at Blenheim Palace. Capability Brown designed the beautiful 2100 acres of parkland.

The 14th Century Monastery of Badia Colti Buono. They offer cooking lessons if you fancy learning how to make Tuscan delights!

Our favourite little church in England - The Shepherd's Church in Didling. It's been nestled there since the 13th century.

Our favourite pub in England is The Duke of Cumberland, a 16th century pub in Henley, Surrey.

My first visit to the Kinderdike in Holland - it was sunny! A bit windy, as you can see from the horse's tail.

Fish Horse Fountain -

Paris has beautiful parks; on this trip we were walking through the Jardins de Luxembourg on our way to find a restaurant that my friend has last visited 20 years ago! We found the restaurant, the same owners, and the same wonderful food. It was a very hot day in June, and the fountain was a welcome feature to cool us down.

Gaudi Steeple -

Barcelona has some beautiful architecture by the eccentric Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi. Parc Guell was created by Gaudi, and although left unfinished is nonetheless beautiful.

HindHead Cross -

This cross was placed at the "Gibbet" on Hindhead Common in Surrey. Around its base runs a Latin inscription which translated reads: "After death, safety; In death, peace; In life, hope; After the darkness, light."

Here we are on bus in Ponza, an Island off of Italy - grabbing shots as the sun goes down!

Krakow -

It doesn't look as cold as it was that day. Even the pigeons were freezing!

Louvre Bar -

The Cafe at the Louvre in Paris. A memorable visit when a friend thought that green mustard was like butter and lavishly spread it on her bread, but suffered shortly thereafter!

Montegonzi, Italy. A small side street that I love for the flowers and the leaning walls.

Natural Arch Ponza -

The beautiful island of Ponza, where natural arches are dotted around the island, and you can even row through this one!

Pantheon Paris Street -

Yes, the Pantheon is in Paris too! This part of Paris is right near the Sorbonne.

Palais Royale -

The covered archways in Paris are always a pleasure to wander through and invite you to go on and on through them. This one is at the Palais Royale.

Pots Lyme Regis -

Lyme Regis is a picturesque fishing town in southern England - famous for a mention in the Doomsday Book, and for smugglers! We were there visiting my Godmother, and spotted these pots on an evening stroll. I especially like taking photographs of pots and plants because there is always a variety of colour and shapes.

This bridge is Ponte Vittorio Emanuele.

Rome Bridges at Night -

The bridge is called Pons Mulvius and is famous for one thing; Constantine's reported vision, on the eve of battle, of a cross in the sky and a voice "In this sign conquer" which turned him and the Roman Empire to Christianity.

Russian Spires -

This marvelous Russian-style church was built on the spot where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated in March 1881.

Santorini -

Towards the end of a sea voyage, that took us from Turkey to Israel, Egypt and Greece, we stopped at the Island of Santorini. The villages are built right on the sides of the volcanic island, and are really spectacular.

Sheep Field Didling -

The Shepherd's Chuch in Didling is well named - the 13th century church still looks over the fields with sheep. Jolly Old England!

Sienna Fountain -

Walking through Siena, we looked through an old entrance, and there was this gorgeous fountain with the most beautiful ochre wall.

Althought Sienna was packed with tourists, we did manage to find some quiet alleyways with lovely views.

St. Lukes -

One of those rare days when it snowed at home! This is St. Lukes, in Grayshott, England.

St. Peters Night -

We decided to walk back after our dinner - and so saw the beautiful views of Rome and St. Peter's at nighttime.

St. Petersburg -

St. Petersburg is not how I imagined it would be! You could almost be in Florence or Holland surround by beautiful buildings, canals, the sea, and history.

Stone Bridge -

Back in Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Dartmoor. This is an ancient stone bridge. In fact, Dartmoor contains the largest concentration of Bronze Age remains in the United Kingdom - although I'm not sure how old this bridge is.

Stone Henge -

Stonehenge doesn't need to much explanation! When I was a child, you could climb all over the stones - not so any more.

Driving down from Montegonzi to Montevarchi, the beautiful wall of flowers made us stop every time.

Street In Tourrette-

Yet another beautiful street in Tourrettes-sur-Loup. I did manage to find the Olive Wood shop that I had visited as a child and all the smells of the wood brought back sweet memories.

Sunset Ponza -

The same night that we were on a very full bus in Ponza - on our way to a dinner somewhere down on the beach, I captured as much of the sunset as I could!.

This was the back way to Sienna which allowed us to see some of the smaller villages, and terraces of bygone eras.
